It is not an easy job to learn the art of yoga for those who run in search of wealth as machines. In order to learn the exact way of yoga our forefathers laid the methods of performing pooja’s at temples called ‘agamavidhi’. They calculated all the festivals on the basis of Thithi, ‘nakshastra’, no moon day and full moon day.
The first festival at palani in pulipani ashrama is dhasara. They start the pooja at the first thithi(Prathamai) from Bogar Jeeva Samadhi. They perform pooja’s to Bhuvaneswari amma treating it an Durga and bring it to the Pulipani ashram which is situated at the foot of palani. The pooja’s are performed for nine continuous night treating shrimath sivanandha pulipani swamiji as durga. They perform patha pooja to dhurga and also perform pooja’s at Jeeva Samadhi at the foot of pulipani ashram for nine continuous night.
At the end of the last day (dhasami) of the festival the swamiji’s taken in the palanquin with the ‘parasakthi vel’ with all respect of deva’s to kothaimangala (situated three kilometers from palani). At kothaimangalam the swamiji throws arrows at the vanni tree and at the banana tree beliefving and destroying vanigasooran.
